The Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS) Elderly Nutrition Program provides free nutritious meals and a welcoming community where seniors can connect and enjoy time together. This October, they have released a new menu featuring balanced meals for older adults. There’s no income requirement to qualify. Participants are required to be 60 or older, a spouse of an eligible senior, or a person with a disability younger than 60 living alone or with an eligible participant. We encourage you to share the attached menu with your patients and direct those interested in joining the program to call their local Area Agency on Aging (AAA) at 1‑800‑AGELINE (1‑800‑243‑5463). Please visit https://alabamaageline.gov/elderly-nutrition-program/ to learn more about this beneficial program.
