Billing Medicare for COVID-19 vaccine administration fee

Some patients may wonder if they have to pay for the COVID-19 vaccine and its associated cost (administration fee). The answer is that ALL should get the vaccine for free regardless of their insurance status.

Now, in Alabama, we started to vaccinate those who are 65 and older, I thought it would be nice to talk about how to bill and get reimbursed for vaccine administration fee from Medicare. Based on, you will need to submit your claims to Original Medicare for all Medicare patients including those who enroll in Advantage plans (MA/MA-PD). This means that patients would need to provide you with their Medicare number (on red white and blue card).
