Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine Approved for EUA

Dear Pharmacist,

On February 27th, the FDA approved Janseen's COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use authorization (EUA) effective immediately. They state the one-dose vaccine surpassed all requirements for it to be administered to people 18 years of age or older, 66% effective in preventing moderate to severe/critical COVID-19 occurring at least 28 days after vaccination, and 85% effective in preventing severe/critical COVID-19 occurring at least 28 days after vaccination.
