WHO Authorizes AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine

Dear Pharmacists,

This past Monday, WHO formally announced that they are authorizing the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. This two-dose series vaccine will be beneficial in the community setting as the storage for the vaccine is optimal for outpatient use. Here are some useful links regarding AstraZeneca's vaccine:

As of right now, the FDA has not given a EUA (emergency use authorization). We will continue to update you if the AstraZeneca vaccine is authorized for emergency use by the FDA.
