Government Increase Medicare Payment for COVID-19 Vaccine

Dear Pharmacists,

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is increasing the amount of payment for administering the COVID-19 vaccine. For vaccines given after March 15, 2021, the payment rate increased from $28 to $40 for single-dose vaccines and $45 to $80 for two-dose shots (payment rates will fluctuate depending on the geographical area and type of place that administers the vaccine).

For receiving free COVID-19 vaccines from the government, providers cannot charge patients for administering the vaccine. Depending on the type of coverage the patient has, there is specific information for each group. Please see the link below for more information!
