National Immunization Awareness Month
August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM)!
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, some families and individuals missed the routine health checkups and vaccination, which makes people at risk for diseases that vaccines can help prevent.
The National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an opportunity to educate and bring awareness to the importance of getting caught up on healthcare appointments and routine vaccinations. CDC and other partners have provided resources for reaching and educating patients. Please use these resources to communicate to healthcare professionals, parents, and patients about immunization during August and throughout the year.
